About Us

Kalayaan Cultural Community Centre a.k.a. KCCC and KALAYAAN CENTRE is a non-profit, charitable organization incorporated on December 8, 1997 as Ontario Corporation Number 001259306. It acquired charitable status on September 17, 2000 with business number 88822 6925 RR0001.

The organization is governed by a board of directors, elected by the general membership for a term of two years. It is mandated to establish and maintain the Kalayaan Cultural Community Centre which serves as a focal point for the celebration of Philippine culture and history, as well as the enjoyment of a wide spectrum of training programs, educational activities, support services and community dialogues for the general public. KCCC started operations in 2000 with temporary offices and facilities at 5546 Timberlea Boulevard, courtesy of Cascade Canada. KCCC used the building rent-free paying only for utilities and administrative costs.

On December 15, 2005, KCCC bought for $975,000, three units of a one-level condominium building located at 5225 Orbitor Drive in Mississauga with a total floor area of 7,232 square feet. It consists of seven office/meeting rooms, a kitchen and a Grand Hall ideal for large social gatherings. The rooms are now being used for meetings, presentations and small parties. Three of the seven rooms have been allocated for offices of the KCCC and two member organizations Mississauga Cooksvile Lions Club and Culture Philippines of Ontario. For inquiries about using the facility you may call the KCCC at 905-602-0923; or e-mail KCCC.

KCCC has moved a step forward and we thank the public for its enthusiastic support to the building fund drive that enabled us to acquire the Orbitor property. May this be an inspiration for all – that things are possible when we work together for a common cause.

We urge everyone to continue supporting the centre and we invite you all to come and visit the new place.
